It is great to see the number of Easy's being built and launched - they are a great boat. Just to show that even though they have a modest sail area, they can still go fast - I came second
last year in the Multihull Rendezvous off Airlie Beach and have achieved good results in the few races that I have gone in. While it is not designed to be a racer by any means it is certainly great to have an extra knot or so of speed over cruising companions - and that is where the light weight and relatively high bridgedeck clearance of the Easy come to the fore.

All the best with building, launching and sailing!

Bushytales is the first of the Easy 37's and I suppose I was lucky in that I bought it already built. This boat was built by Peter Snell originally for Jeff B. I have owned Bushytales for two and a half years now and have been more than happy with it in all this time - they are a great design boat and sail well. I live on board and have cruised the coast between Cooktown and Bundaberg (north-east coast of Australia) several times now.
If there was one overriding thing that I would say it is do everything you can in the construction to keep the weight of the finished boat as low as possible. Weight translates directly into performance and the lighter you are the faster you will go. It also means that stresses on the hull are reduced which has to be a good thing. I am lucky in that Bushytales is very light - but I have seen other Easy's where the amount of wood and fairing has grown and grown until they are way over weight.
