EASY Cruising
Tales, Tips and Torture from various Yachties
Trevor & Cathy S
As a teenager I spent some time sailing with one of my neighbours and his dad on board a 28' monohull called Sea Prince. These times always remain in memory as a wonderful introduction to sailing.
The sensation of power from the wind had left its mark.
During the following years and with a young family our boating venturers were of the power kind. These times also remain special as family outings on the water became a way of life and when ever possible we were fishing with four little kids in a 14' tinnie on the Broadwater or at Brunswick Heads, Australia (what a trial) with the best of all was a day picnic at Tipplers on Stradbroke Is.
The years progressed, but that sailing thing was etched in my memory.
Time marched on and the Kids grew up and guess what, we bought a 23' trailer sailer and I was back sailing on wonderful Moreton Bay. Then came the thoughts of a bigger and better boat. The selection of the Easy 11.6 was a no contest as the boat for the amateur boat builder because of the simplicity of design and the help from Peter Snell required on interpretation or amendment to plans.
Here is a pictorial journey so far. Due to an inexperienced camera operator, I have lost some photos.
